Initiation Day
Next morning, after the opening day, everybody met at Van Prasth Ashram for the breakfast at around 8 o’clock. They were all dressed in white clothes and looked pretty happy and positive about the Initiation for their 10-Day Meditation Teacher Training at Satyam Shivam Sundaram Meditation School in Rishikesh.
For most of them, it was their first time trying India food and everyone was skeptical of it being too spicy or oily. But they were all surprised when the food finally arrived that how delicious and healthy the food was which included Poha, Upma, plain curd, chai and Paranthas. Everybody shared and enjoyed their first meal together. After that, they all went to the river bank for a silent, walking meditation. It was supposed to be for the individual self-practice. This practice was good for their mind and for preparing them for the course.

After the20-minute long session at the banks of River Ganges, they all were asked to the temple inside the Van Prasth Ashram complex where they were to be initiated and receive blessings for a successful 10-Day Meditation Teacher Training Program. For everyone, it was an introduction to the rituals and customs of Hindu culture.

After the initiation session was over at the temple, everybody was told to gather at the Meditation hall at Satyam Shivam Sundaram Meditation School for the first class of their training.
It was a beautiful start to the equally beautiful spiritual journey of everyone’s life. They were blessed by the Ganges and priests at the temple.
